Hashimoto’s disease is an autoimmune disorder that causes thyroid dysfunction. It is also known as chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis or hypothyroidism.

Hashimoto’e disease is caused by an autoimmune reaction against the thyroid gland. In some cases, the cause is unknown. However, there are several possible triggers for the development of Hashimoto’s. These include genetics, environmental toxins, infections, stress, and certain medications.

They may also have trouble losing weight.

    Treatment Options

If you suspect you have Hashimoto’s, your doctor will likely recommend testing to confirm the diagnosis.
