Virtual Colonoscopy
Virtual colonoscopy is a technique used as an alternative to classical colonoscopy for screening colon cancer and is successfully applied by our hospital's specialist physicians. It is a painless procedure where plan images are taken from the patient in the supine and prone positions and does not require anesthesia so you can continue your daily work immediately after the examination. Compared to classical colonoscopy, virtual colonoscopy provides higher patient comfort and it takes only minutes. In addition, other intra-abdominal organs entering the examination area during virtual colonoscopy are also evaluated, and it enables the detection of some diseases that may take place outside the large intestine such as dilatation in the main vessels (aortic aneurysms), kidney stones, and kidney cancers.
