Thulium Laser Surgery for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH)

Our patient today is a 58-year-old patient with a diagnosis of benign prostatic hyperplasia for whom we decided to have surgery. Today, when we suggested different treatment alternatives to our patient, our patient's choice was thuFLEP.

This surgical technique is actually seen as the latest version of many endoscopic surgical techniques, so it has extremely successful results. We generally perform this surgery under spinal anesthesia. Although our operation time varies according to the size of the prostate, it can take up to an hour, an hour and a half, sometimes up to 2 hours.

It has important advantages; It is a new prostate surgery technique that we prefer because of its advantages such as the absence of bleeding, the very low risk of recurrence, and the shorter post-operative catheterization time. We believe it has been extremely successful. Urinary incontinence is almost nonexistent. We do not experience any problems in the sexual life of the patient. We will begin the procedure shortly.

Our thuFLEP surgery, which we planned for our patient today, has now been completed. After the operation, which lasted approximately one and a half hours, we inserted a 22F3 catheter to our patient. Our patient will remain with the catheter until tomorrow. After 24 hours, we will remove the catheter and discharge our patient.
